Peltons Preschool offers a full time schedule for 2015-16 school year

• Monday - Friday
• 8am - 5pm
• Tuition - $850 month
• Adjusted rate for Aug, Nov, Dec, & April $650 month
• Student brings lunch from home
• $50 non-refundable enrollment fee used for school supplies
• Follows SVVSD school calendar 2015-16
• Open full time for staff work days and late start days
• Please communicate a time adjustment for drop off and pick up if needed. 

Daily Schedule:
8am - arrival/free play
9am - 12 Structured Preschool
12 - lunch
12:30 TV program
1 - 3 Nap/Rest time or Quiet time

Welcome back from holiday break!  Learning and celebrating the Christmas holiday season was fantastic.  Not to mention how much fun Fall activities were for the entire class. 

We aren't shying away from the Winter season.  Bring it on.  My 3 & 4 yr olds are learning about insulation, hibernation, migration and camouflage. Science & Social Studies is where the fun's at.

September Newsletter

WRITING

We have been busy learning about our name and face.  Each student showed excitement about their name by recognizing, creating or writing their letters.  Ask them about Mat Man if you get a chance.  My handwriting curriculum comes from a program called Handwriting Without Tears and the first thing we do is meet Mat Man.  Using song, circles and lines, Mat Man is a simple way to draw our face, entire stick figure, and create all uppercase and lowercase alphabet letters…  They just don’t know it yet!

This month we will study letters A – D, uppercase/lowercase/tracing/writing/sounds.

 

MATH

We will focus on a color and shape for two weeks at a time.  During this time we will create poems, songs, art, and games involving our color & shape.

We studied red circles the first two weeks and are moving on to blue squares, then brown triangles for this month.

Size will be incorporated into each set of shapes as well.  Big, medium and small were the vocabulary we used on our red circles as well as blue squares.    We will read The Three Bears to talk about family and size and the lovely number 3.  “My number” as it is well known.

 

LEARNING CENTERS

We have opened 6 learning centers so far.  Ask them which is their favorite  puzzles, art, home, blocks, library, or math?

 

THEMES

We started off our school year with My Name & My Face.  Next we move onto My Family & My Feelings.  We end this month with Apples. We will cook up play-dough from scratch, predict, graph & taste apples, build houses out of shapes, and continue Mat Man to make ourselves and our families.  Get ready for refrigerator art!
